Make sure that you change your email account and World of Warcraft passwords AFTER you have found the infection and removed it. Doing so before cleaning your system will mean your new password may have been sent to the malicious third party once more.

Remember that unless you actually locate and remove the source of this infection it is still there and will result in you being continually keylogged. Once removed, update your operating system and web browser with the latest security patches.

Please note that Key Loggers and Trojan viruses send information about your passwords to other people and should be considered a serious threat to the integrity of your system. These details are not limited to World of Warcraft; keyloggers routinely steal online banking information where possible and any other personal details they can find. If steps are not taken to remove any possible programs from your computer, it is highly probable that your account will become compromised once more.

Finally, we have reset your password and issued you with a computer generated one, which you will receive in a separate e-mail. You will be able to change this password at your leisure, using the Account Management feature on our web site, located at:

Your password will be sent from [email protected]. If you do not receive it after one hour, please add this address to your email address list so that it is not rejected by any spam filter you are using.

You can then use the request password feature found at: http://www.wow-europe.com/login-support/ in order to retrieve your password, if the email address registered to your account is correct and you can remember the secret question and answer. If this fails, do not hesitate to contact us via our webform (http://eu.blizzard.com/support/webform.xml), and we will issue you another password.

Please do not disclose your new password to anyone, including Blizzard staff, or change it back to one of your previous passwords.

To prevent the possibility of further unwanted Battle.net account merges we strongly recommend that you consider creating your own Battle.net account and attach your World of Warcraft account as soon as you are able to:

Please note that you should still be aware of potential security risks on your PC as doing this WILL NOT automatically prevent the chance of unauthorised access on your account, but it will prevent the account from being able to be merged to another Battle.net account.

Please also be aware that at the time of your account being locked, the recurring subscription was removed. Consequently, the account will be frozen once your current subscription has elapsed, unless you set up a new subscription via the Account Management page (http://www.wow-europe.com/account).

If you find anything is missing from your account, please contact the Game Master department by submitting an in-game ticket explaining your problem in more detail.
