Errors

If you got something like this, you need to:

* Power down the drive between each tries
* Check the serial adapter communication
* Wrong COM port selected for the serial adapter (DVDKey hardcoded to COM1)
* Tx and Rx pin is reversed or misplaced on the transceiver

To verify that the serial adapter works, make sure the serial-port is enabled in the BIOS, and join (loop) the Tx and Rx pins together (pin 2 and 3). Open HyperTerm (or any other terminal applications) and try the default settings (9600, 8, None, 1). Type something in the terminal, if it's working it should echo back what you type. HyperTerm will not show what you type/input by default, only what's replied back/output from the RS232 transceiver. For more loopback test info, look here.

Alternatively, try this very simple RS-232 level converter. Composed of only resistors, diodes, transistors, and a capacitor.

Chyby

Ak dostanes nieco podobne, je potrebne spravit nasledujuce:

* Vypnut zariadenie medzi jednotlivymi pokusmi
* Skontroluj, ci je seriovy kabel ok
* Vybral si nespravny COM port pre seriovy adapter (DVDKey je naprogramovny pre COM1 a nie je to mozne pripojit na iny port COM)
* Tx and Rx piny su zle osadene alebo nie su vobec osadene na transceivery

Na overenie, ci kabel funguje, uisti sa, ze je COM port povoleny v Biose a prepoj Tx a Rx dokopy (piny 2 a 3). Otvor HyperTerm (alebo akykolvek iny terminal) a skus tovarenske nastavenia (9600, 8, None, 1). Potom napis do terminalu, ci to funguje. Malo by sa ti zobrazovat, co pises. Prednastaveny HyperTerm nevypisuje, co pises na vstupe, ale len vystupy z RS232 transceiver. Ak chces skusit dalsie testy, tak tu je link..

Ako jednou z moznosti, mozes si skusit zostrojit jednoduchy RS232 level converter. Budes potrebovat len odpory, diody, tranzistory a kondenzatory.

BTW. na preklady tu mame ale inu temu. Popripade pouzi google translate alebo iny specializovany soft alebo a to najlepsie, sa troska zacat ucit, urcite to neuskodi.
