* That expansion pack is called World of Warcraft: Into the Maelstrom
* The Maelstrom area of Azeroth will be opened up for play. Will consist of various islands and Undermine will have a new neutral city.
* The islands will include questing zones, raid dungeons, that city, and a new arena.
* The level cap is being raised to 80 with the expansion but there will be no new talents.
* Advancement after level 70 will be through Hero Classes rather than talents. Hero classes will function as subclasses and each existing class will have 3 of these hero classes to choose from. These hero classes will not be limited by talent choices. Players will be able to choose these new subclasses at trainers when ItM goes live.
* Currently the Priest and Druid hero classes are complete and the Warrior and Mage are close to completion.
* Hero classes will be demonstrated at BlizzCon

Why?
The Legion has been crippled since the visit to Outland; Arthas is making his move to strike.
The second biggest threat to Azeroth is the Scourge; it’s time to stop them.
Northrend is the most discussed place since Outland.
In terms of content it would be bigger then Outland.
Why not?
Are we prepared to take on Arthas (aka the Lich King)?

Some hidden Northrend models can be found in patch 2.1
Drysc has posted before that players won’t take Arthas on level 70 but level 80; it’s unsure if he was joking or not, one can see it as a hint.
Beyond Outland
Why?
We only fought Illidan’s forces; the Legion is still at large.
With Illidan out of the way and the portals no longer closed, the Legion has to strike.
Why not?
Not much is known about the lands beyond Outland.
Are fans waiting for more “outer-space” areas?
Hints
Before the Burning Crusade was released it has been many times said by Blizzard that we would only get a piece of Outland. There are still lands floating around, not to forget the portals leading to other places.
The Emerald Dream
Why?
It will introduce a unique landscape.
In terms of content it will introduce Azeroth unchanged; this means there was never a sundering in this version. Enough room for zones!
Why not?
Too big for now?

There are enough (unfinished) quests that lead to the Emerald Dream.
There are already some models of the Emerald Dream in WoW directories
The most obvious choice would be Northrend. Further speculation will go about Northrend.

ani vobec subclassy krasny fake ..
* Novým kontinentem bude ledový Northrend zhruba stejné velikosti jako Outland. Několik lokací: první Howling Fjord, dále Borean Tundra, Grizzly Hills, Dragonblight.
* Ti nejvytrvalejší se budou moci postavit samotnému králi Lichů (kdysi lidskému princi Arthasovi).
* Death Knight bude první hrdinskou třídou a dostupný hráčům za Alianci i Hordu.
* Pokud splníte určité podmínky (zjevná inspirace vznikem Jediů v SW Galaxies), budete si moci vytvořit celý charakter Death Knight automaticky na vysokém levelu.
* Maximální úroveň se zvýší na osmdesátou, což by mělo trvat zhruba stejně dlouho jako z 60. na 70.
* Do PvP soubojů přibudou dobývací stroje, zničitelné budovy + nová bojiště.
* První z nových dungeonů bude Utgarde Keep pro pět hráčů na 70. levelu, celkově chce Blizzard přidat zhruba tolik podzemních lokací jako v Burning Crusade.
* Díky nové profesi Inscription budete moci nastálo vylepšit vaše kouzla a vytvářet nové předměty.
* Do Northrendu se bude moci podívat kdokoliv, ale co do obtížnosti to bude kontinent určený hráčům na 68. a vyšší úrovni.
* Přibudou stovky nových receptů a tisíce předmětů + vaší postavu budete moci více odlišit tanečky a změnou účesu.
